A Street-lamp
The street-light-
The only one
Shining in the night,
Illuminating just a little
When the good old Moon isn't shining by,
Throwing away its beams of rays
For the tired soul who might trudge along the deserted way
When the night is long and dark
And the lamp is the only one keeping a vigil
over the tedious path
until the traveller reaches the rock of his home
And leans on the pillow
Burdened by his head.
